Commercial history · competitor relationships
Which brands has the influencer worked with? Separate what the evidence says.
A sponsorship history review reads brand mentions, advertising disclosures and collaboration signals in the content that can be retrieved, together with their dates. TubeDetect presents sponsor and competitor traces with their sources and does not read every brand mention as a paid agreement.
A brand mention, product visibility and a sponsorship are different
A brand mentioned in a video does not by itself prove a paid collaboration. The content can be a review, a comparison, everyday usage or an advertisement. Without an explicit advertising statement or a related commercial signal, no claim about a definite agreement is made.
| Observed trace | What can be said | What cannot be said |
|---|---|---|
| Product or logo visibility | The brand appears in the content. | A paid sponsorship certainly exists. |
| Advertising or collaboration disclosure | The content carries an explicit commercial statement. | The value and the private terms of the agreement are known. |
| Competitor brand mention | There is a content trace about the competitor. | An exclusivity contract is currently in force. |
Read the date and the intensity of the earlier relationship
A recent competitor collaboration and a single product mention months ago do not carry the same weight. The repetition, the content format and the disclosure style help you define the questions to ask before the campaign.
The six-month window of retrievable content in TubeDetect is limited. Deleted content, private agreements and relationships outside that window are never presented as a complete sponsorship archive.
What your team should clarify before making an offer
The report turns the topics you will discuss with the creator into concrete items. When you assess the commercial history, do not only ask whether a competitor exists; also look at how the creator discloses advertising and how it is combined with their own content line.
- Is the competitor visibility an explicit collaboration or a contextual mention?
- When was the related content published?
- Was an agreement that extends into the campaign period separately confirmed?
- How will the sponsored content disclosure be described in the brief?
- Are unclear findings reported while keeping that uncertainty visible?
Frequently asked questions
Clear the decision before the brief.
Does TubeDetect show private sponsorship contracts?
No. The assessment is limited to retrievable platform data and verifiable sources. Private contract value, duration or exclusivity terms cannot be concluded from a content trace with certainty.
Does competitor visibility rule out an influencer automatically?
The nature, the date and the brand context of the relationship have to be assessed together. A contextual mention and an explicit commercial collaboration are not the same level of evidence.
